We’re on the hunt for a new premises after second record breaking year!
We have had our second record breaking year this year, with projects completed for Leeds City College as just one example of our ever-growing portfolio. Howells had the best trading year ever in history, beating last year’s 2.5 million record. Our family run business’ staff have over 150 years’ worth of combined experience within the industry, giving the firm valuable expertise and knowledge that our clients have come to trust.
This year marks a significant milestone for the company as we have made the decision to move into a larger premises to cater for expansion. Tracey Jackson from our Black Country firm has said “A new premises will need to be larger than what we currently have. We are now working at capacity and employing new staff, so we need something which we can grow into again. We are excited to be moving the business forward and being able to create new opportunities for people in the area”.
Whilst we are looking for a premises at least 50% bigger than our current size (Which is 18000 sq ft), we will remain around the Cradley Heath area. “This area is great for transport links for the Midlands and further afield. The new factory needs to have the same links to the rest of the UK. Staff locality is also important, so we don’t want to change their journey to work too much”.
Our move will also enable us to create new job opportunities in the area. we have already found a new apprentice to be placed in the welding department on a 2 year course that starts in September, and are also looking for a new patent glazing fixing team of at least two people. We hope that this move will continue to provide longevity of the brand, tailored production, and exciting opportunities ahead.
