Howells invest in people: A year of milestone anniversaries

We have a lot to celebrate this year. Alongside our plans of relocation to bigger premises, a second record turnover and new job availability, we also have a whole host of anniversaries for our dedicated staff this month.

For over 42 years, Howells Patent Glazing have been a well-respected manufacturer of patent glazing, roof lights, canopies and more for both trade and domestic clients. We have carried out works at prestigious venues including Millennium Point in Birmingham, the orangery at Alton Towers, The Royal Albert Docks and The NEC. However, this month we’re dedicating our blog to praise our long standing staff who have a total of over 60 working years with our firm.

Lisa Crowley, Julie Wassell, Sheila Koszary and Alex Montgomery are all celebrating 10 years with us. Dave Bennett, who has also just celebrated his 20 year anniversary with us, has seen many changes to Howells in his time. When he first started with the firm, there were only 5 people working here – A contrast to the 34 employees there are now!

Bennett fondly recalls “the recognition of staff efforts upon the completion of the large profile glazing job we finished at Millennium Point, Birmingham. The Company were so pleased with us all that they supplied an all-expenses paid trip to Belgium for a long weekend. Particular memories include; the Conductor on the train trip to Bruges, The very rough crossing back to Dover, and the additions to the Howells Empire, some 9 months later”.

Sheila Koszary, the firms Marketing Assistant, said “I love working for Howells. Getting positive feedback from direct liaisons with our clients is the best feeling. I hope to be with the firm for many more years and be a part of its inevitable growth. One of my fondest memories from my time with Howells is when we went to see ‘The Nutcracker’ – It was my first time at the ballet, and there aren’t many companies out there who would treat their staff to something so special”.

Howells highly-trained and experienced staff are the heart of our business, and are well versed in the glazing industry and exert themselves in each and every aspect of their day-to-day duties. Dedicated to supplying customers with the highest standard of service, our employees truly are the driving force behind our success – and we aren’t afraid of shouting it from the rooftops!

“We are so happy to have such a fantastic and dedicated workforce who together with us want to see Howells improve and prosper.  As a company we are committed to our employees and believe that they come first, as a happy workforce is productive one” said Tracey Jackson, Marketing Manager at Howells Patent Glazing.

The great news is that we aren’t stopping there. We have a new welding apprentice who is just starting at the company, and we are looking for more staff for our installation team and a saw operator. The future of Howells Patent Glazing is looking bright, and our staff are sure to reap the benefits of this great British business!
